Objective
A focus on typograhpy.
For the 3D project, you need to create something that exists in the 3D physical space. This may mean you use digital technology at points to create it, but it ultimately existing in physical space. By 3D, I mean something that physically interacts with the space. It may be something that is flat in application but uses the space to activate it or it may be a physical structure.
For the 2D project, you need to create something that exists in the 2D physical space. This may mean you use digital technology at points to create it, but it ultimately existing in physical space. By 2D, I mean something mostly flat but could have a little dimension to it.
Concept
The 3D project delves into the intricate concept of "Fate" . More specifically, in how it is perceived and viewed. The vision involves employing shadow boxes, along with carefully chosen fabric and ribbon, to craft a dynamic and fluid typographic depiction of the word, capturing its essence in a visually striking manner.
The 2D project draws inspiration from the traditional Papel Picado art form, deeply rooted in Mexican culture. The central focus of the piece is the bold inscription "Sueños y Recuerdos" (Dreams and Memories), intricately cut out in the center of the paper along with ornate designs.
Surrounding this central motif, the phrase "En los sueños encontramos refugio, En los recuerdos hallamos el camino" (In dreams we find refuge, In memories we find the way) is delicately crafted on the sides. This project not only celebrates the rich artistic heritage of Mexican culture but also invites reflection on the profound themes of dreams and memories as guiding forces in life.
